About Program

Sponsor a Child, a program run by Sewa International, provides financial support to a child to complete the school education. The sponsorship program is meant for the school students from class 1 to 12 who are unable to bear the cost of education due to personal/family crisis or any other financial problems and are at a risk of dropping out are provided with monetary assistance of up to INR 20,000.

Eligibility
  • Only for Indian nationals.
  • For students studying in Class 1 to 12 in a private or government-aided school.
  • 55% marks (or Grade C1) in the previous qualifying examination.
  • Annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 3.0 lakh (3,00,000 INR).
  • Only two children from a family.

  4. Request letter (Letter from School, Letter from Parent, Consent Letter)
  5. Crisis document (Parent death certificate, job loss document, income certificate, divorce order, etc)
  6. Undertaking Letter (MSWord, PDF)

    Terms and Conditions

    • Student's photo, academic details, and achievement certificates will be shared with the donor.
    • Submitting documents does not entitle for the sponsorship.
    • Sponsorship limit is 20,000 INR per child per year.
    • Upon availing the sponsorship, student (parent/guardian) had to submit the fee receipt, marksheet , and achievement certificates periodically.
    • Student (Parent/Guardian) had to request for the sponsorship every year. Sponsorship is not auto-renewal.
    • Sewa International has the right to reject an application.

    How the Program Works?

    Students Apply

    Application will be invited from the students during May month of every year. The student (or guardian) has to register using their email ID, fill the details, upload the documents, and apply for the sponsorship. 

    Sewa Shortlists

    Sewa International team will call all the applicants, verify the details provided, and shortlist the children for the year for whom the sponsorship has to be provided.

    Donor Selects

    The shortlisted children details (name, marklist, and photograph) will be shared with the prospective donors to raise fund for the shortlisted children.

    Payment Done

    Once the donor pays the amount, we will pay the fees directly to the school against the request from the school. If our selection process is delayed and the parent had paid the fees, we will reimburse the fees to parent against the fee receipt.
